We are pleased to offer PET’S (Pet Travel Scheme) Passports under the guidance of DEFRA. There were a number of changes in 2014. Pet owners must ensure they meet the pet travel requirements when taking their pets abroad.

Under the current scheme pets no longer require a blood test. Passports are valid for travel 21 days after issue. Your pet must be micro-chipped before a passport can be issued. Passports are valid for life (depending on what the BREXIT requirements are) so long as their rabies vaccinations are kept up to date. Check with our clinical team because this can change from year to year depending on the licence of the vaccine. Most vaccinations in the UK last for 3 years. Please check the requirements of entry for each country visited and ensure you have made provision for pre-flight health checks, veterinary administered wormers etc if they are a requirement.

Please ensure you are up to date with disease risks for the area you are visiting/moving too. Animals from the UK have little resistance to many European diseases. Remember your pet is only protected against Rabies and some parasites under the scheme. You must protect your pets from Sand flies and ticks with gold standard products that repel as well as kill ticks. Some diseases are devastating to pets such as Babesiosis, Leishmaniasis

Please make an email enquiry for export certificates after researching the exact requirements and ensuring you have an idea of the time scale needed.
