About Us

Situated in the heart of Hexham, Northumberland, Hadrian Vets is part of the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme as a Small Animal General Practice showing just how high our standards are in clinical care and customer service. We are also part of the RWAF rabbit friendly vet list and our senior vet holds a General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery.

The practice has great facilities such as separate cat and dog ward with heated cat kennels, in house laboratory, ultrasound, separate dental suite with dental x-ray and multiparameter monitoring equipment.

The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated registered veterinary nurse who is confident in all aspects of nursing as well as possessing great communication and consulting skills with clients. Full training and support is offered to less experienced candidates.

This is a full time role, working 40 hours with a day off during the week allowing for a good work/life balance, as well as 1:3 Saturday shifts on a rota basis with a late start the following Monday. Part-time applicants will be considered, with the ideal candidate being flexible with hours for covering holidays and sickness.

Veterinary Care Assistant/Animal Care Assistant

Vacancy for qualified/experienced Veterinary Care Assistant/Animal Care Assistant.

Due to expansion of the practice facilities and an increasing workload we are needing to expand our team.

We now have a vacancy for a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA)

We are a growing practice continually striving to improve patient care and customer satisfaction.  We are a small friendly and supportive team.

The VCA role is wide and varied, the position would suit a highly motivated individual wanting to expand and improve their skill set.  Full training will be given on all areas of the role however the ideal candidate will hold a VCA or equivalent qualification and have worked in practice before.

Administration and reception skills will be part of the role.

There is no out of hour’s commitment.

The ideal candidate would hold a full driving licence, have good IT and administration skills, have good communication skills both verbal and written and have some customer service skills (not essential).

You ideally need to have reasonable numeracy and literacy skills and hold 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including maths and English with grades A-C.

The position is for full time Monday to Friday with a Saturday rota.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

The team at Hadrian Vets are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the practice.

Full-time hours with regular Saturday morning shifts, but a part-time candidate would be considered. The ideal candidate would be flexible with hours for covering holidays and sickness.

We are a small team with high standards both in our clinical work and our customer service.

All aspects of nursing and client care are undertaken so a successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be confident conducting nurse clinics and being face to face with clients. They should possess the ability to work alone and with members of our team, and be able to deliver exceptional nursing standards in theatre and with inpatients.

For less experienced candidates, full training and support will be provided.

We have a wide range of state of the art equipment to aid us in providing gold standard care to our patients.

Competitive salary dependent on experience.
